I've been testing a few alternatives to Zoom and MS Teams and have really enjoyed around.co. 

Unlike traditional video conferencing tools, around has bubble-like "windows" for each call participant that hover on your desktop. The bubbles are not so much in your face, so when you present something, you can actually see people's facial expressions. 

The tool is quite fun, as you have color filters that make you look "nicer".

I have also used it to just stay connected with my most recent digital love. We just keep the tool running and it feels like working next to each other. When we want to talk, we just unmute ourselves to use those five minutes in between calls to chat.
